What is a 'Last'?

The LAST is the designed form that the shoe uppers are pulled over and secured on during manufacture. The 'last' defines not only foot shape but more importantly the shoe and especially the toe shape. All our lasts are given names, for example Brilleaux, Moon or Rochester. Historically the forms were wooden like our shoes trees but are now more commonly a dense type of plastic.
